Travelling with Baby to Korea

My baby was 9 weeks 3 days (2 months 4 days) when i brought her on her first plane trip, from Singapore to Seoul. We flew with Korean Air and it's definitely baby-friendly. Here I'm gonna share my experience with Korean Air, as well as tips on travelling with infant. BABY ESSENTIALS Always have fever patch, thermometer, gripe water and medical items on standby when you travel just in case your baby needs it. Bring moisturizer, baby lotion and baby oil especially if the weather is gonna be cold. DIAPERS ! If you have luggage space, bring the diapers over. If not, you may choose to buy diapers at your destination. For me, I'm Kiasu, I'm afraid i may not get to find diapers around my accommodation, but i brought the whole pack of diapers over. Not forgetting the diaper changing essentials! Powder and diaper rash cream. Our first trip together sweetheart! Flying with Korean Air with an infant.. Infant is entitled to 10kg checked luggage, plus 1 piece of ...

Stopping Lactation: Dostinex

Yes. I decided to give up breastfeeding.   Because it's eating away my sleep and health, mentally and physically.  People always say, " breastfeeding is the best for your child and try to breastfeed as long as possible, at least 6 months ". Well, it's easier said than done . Now that I've experienced breastfeeding, I'd really admire those mums who actually breastfed for months or years. It's so so so tough and tiring, I swear. For those who don't understand and never knew what's the life of a breastfeeding mom...  Here's an example (newborn).  1am baby sleep. Mummy sleep.  3am baby cry. feeding time  (Latch: 30-40 mins. Or Bottle: 5 mins prepare and warm milk, feed 20-30 mins.) 3.35am burp baby. 3.40am   change baby diaper. 3.45am put baby to sleep 3.50am pump out (remaining) breast milk. 4.20am done pump. Prepare storage. 4.25am store breast milk in fridge. Wash up breast pump and sterilize. 4.35am Sleep....

Increasing Breastmilk: Lactation Cookies & Shatavari

How I Increase My Breastmilk? During the 2nd night in hospital, my breasts were so engorged. On the 3rd day, the engorgement was killing me, so i tried to pump (I didnt know about the "pump as soon as possible after delivery", I was only aware about latching, which i couldn't because my baby was in NICU). So i only tried to pump on the 3rd day. My first pump was 80ml, both breasts. After that, every 3-4 hours, it's about 30-50ml. I then became lazy on pumping, which in turn, decreased my milk supply. When i got home, my milk supply was low, so i started eating my homemade lactation cookies as well as a supplement called Shatavari. I continue taking them every day, along with pumping every 3-4 hours. After 1 month, this is an example of my milk supply... I somehow think the lactation cookies and/or the Shatavari works. So i would love to share with interested mummies out there. Lactation Cookies Ingredients 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats 1 1/2 cups unb...

Post-Delivery: Cesarean Stitch Removal

Visited Dr Hii to remove my Cesarean Section sutures/stitches. To my surprise, the suture removal was painless and fast, like 1 second, cut and pull out, that's it. I realised Dr Hii's stitching skill is good. the incision and wound looks nicer than I thought. haha.   Was given Dermatix Ultra to apply on the wound. This is well known for it's scar reduction effect and it's useful for surgical scars. I also asked Dr Hii if there's any medication to help boost my milk supply. He then prescribed me Maxolon .  Total Damage: $230.05

My Birth Delivery & Hospital Stay Diary...

[ DAY 1 ] 5am : I was asleep. Waterbag broke. ( blood red water mixture gushing out from time to time.) No contractions, yet. 5.20am : Called the 24hrs hotline whereby the operator transferred my call to my doctor. Dr Hii then advised me to admit to hospital. (For what i know, waterbag leakage are of colourless or maybe a tint of pink, but mine was bloody red. So I asked the operator if my bright red water leakage is normal, she said yes. So i took her words, and took my time to get prepared to go to the hospital. Read on to find out why I regretted taking her words). 6am : Breakfast (Bread and Milo). A last bumpie shot. I'm gonna miss your little movements inside me... 6.30am : Left home. Brother drove me to Mount Alvernia Hospital (MAH). 7am : Arrived at MAH. 7.05am : Changed into Hospital gown. Admitted to Labour Ward. Blood pressure taken. Temperature taken. Baby's heartbeat monitor and contractions tracker strapped on. 7.15am : Business office staff...
