Travelling with Baby to Taiwan

Hi people, here's a throwback post after soooo long.
Been really really busy as a full time working mum.
My baby was 6.5 months when i brought her on her second overseas trip,
to Taiwan.

Day 1
Feb 2019

We flew with SQ as my baby got a complimentary flight ticket from signing up with POSB CDA Account.
We requested for a bassinet seat
(make good use of this privilege before your child turns 2!)

Hot food for my baby on the flight from Singapore to Taipei.

Arriving at Taipei Taoyuan Airport, there was this priority queue!

I booked a private transfer from the Airport to our Hotel through

We are 3 adults + 1 baby. Instead of choosing "Group of 1-4", we chose "Group of 1-8" instead. Because we have 3 pieces of big luggage and 2 pieces of small luggage, so a bigger transport is recommended.
It's so convenient and fuss-free.

Temperature: 16°C

I booked a hotel located in the heart of Ximending.
VIA Hotel

Room with 2 double beds and requested for a baby cot.

They provided baby bathtub and a stool upon request as well!

This is the hotel's perk! Free flow of hot/cold drinks & snacks 24/7.
YES. 24 hours
Hot & cold filtered water as well.
So making warm (powdered) milk for baby is super convenient!

Whenever I travel with my baby, I always bring along a stroller rain cover.

Fu Hang Dou Jiang 阜杭豆漿
I ordered this through Klook [Fu Hang Dou Jiang in Taipei] @ $22.50
The delivery to the hotel was punctual. Service charge is applicable at $8+ for weekdays and $13+ for weekends. I didn't have to join the crazy queue that may take about 1-2 hours! So convenient especially when you have a child with you.

We hired a private transport through Ownrides.
It's so convenient, you can customise your own trip and get the price before you book!
Just key in the Date, Pick up time from Hotel, Destinations/Attractions, Drop off time at Hotel, and confirm. It will start searching and waiting for Ownrides registered drivers in Taiwan to accept your trip. Just like Grab or Uber app. You will have to pay a deposit amount, and pay the balance in cash to the driver after the trip. How convenient!
Please note that car seat for child under age of 4 is mandatory in Taiwan, except for Taxi. (Same traffic law as Singapore)

Shifen (十分)

 Jiufen (九份)
Remember to bring disposable raincoat & umbrella
There's no shelter throughout the walkway in Jiufen.
And baby stroller is not recommended due to the slopes, stairs and probably crowd.

Returned to hotel by evening.
We had dinner at Saizeriya, Ximending.

During the wee hours, we went for a foot massage after my baby had fell asleep.
I put her in the stroller and off we go!
There are a few outlets that open til quite late.

Stopping Lactation: Dostinex

Yes. I decided to give up breastfeeding.   Because it's eating away my sleep and health, mentally and physically.  People always say, " breastfeeding is the best for your child and try to breastfeed as long as possible, at least 6 months ". Well, it's easier said than done . Now that I've experienced breastfeeding, I'd really admire those mums who actually breastfed for months or years. It's so so so tough and tiring, I swear. For those who don't understand and never knew what's the life of a breastfeeding mom...  Here's an example (newborn).  1am baby sleep. Mummy sleep.  3am baby cry. feeding time  (Latch: 30-40 mins. Or Bottle: 5 mins prepare and warm milk, feed 20-30 mins.) 3.35am burp baby. 3.40am   change baby diaper. 3.45am put baby to sleep 3.50am pump out (remaining) breast milk. 4.20am done pump. Prepare storage. 4.25am store breast milk in fridge. Wash up breast pump and sterilize. 4.35am Sleep.

Hospital Bag Checklist

The Hospital Bag Checklist for delivering in Singapore When should you pack your maternity hospital bag? Try to pack at least 3 weeks before your due date, as it's better to be ready-to-go instead of panicking when the water bag breaks unexpectedly or if the painful contractions finally visits you and by then you won't be able to think properly of what to bring to hospital.  What to pack in your hospital bag? Well, it depends on what amenities and items are already included in your hospital maternity package though. I will be delivering at Mount Alvernia Hospital , and these are the stuffs that's included in the maternity package... Mount Alvenia Maternity packages include the following: Lodging, inclusive of meals (Normal delivery - 3D2N / C-Section - 4D3N) Labour Ward charges or Operating Theatre charges (depending on type of delivery) Nursery charges Daily treatment fee for Nursing services Baby's immunization (BCG, 1st dose of Hep B and Vitamin

How I came t o know about this premium essence of chicken? I posted a question on a "Mummies Group" on Facebook asking which chicken essence brand is the best for pregnancy. And "Lao Xie Zhen" had the most votes, which was a brand I had never heard of. So i googled it, visited the website to find out more about it. What are the benefits?
